Tomorrow is our big day!

I'll be back at work and Jacob will be in daycare. I stopped by to drop off his stuff today and talked to the ladies in the baby room. I feel a little bit more at ease now... on our "tour" of the center, the lady showing us around was a bit..."out there," and we didn't really talk to the ladies that would be taking care of Jacob all day. They were super nice and when I dropped in (unannounced-- the director told me to just stop by whenever to drop off his stuff) I was happy to see the babies playing down on the floor with them. They even have Jacob's favorite toy- his Big Bird & Elmo dangly thing (okay I have no clue what it's actually called) that he lays under. He has one-sided conversations with Big Bird for a good 10-15 minutes at a time some days! I know it will be hard to drop him off tomorrow morning and hard to go back into my little gray cubicle. At least it will be a short week at daycare and work.

I hope Jacob has an easier time going to bed tonight than he did last night, since we'll be getting up at about 6:00 a.m. I am not kidding you, he did not go to sleep until almost 2 a.m. I have no idea what the heck that was all about and I hope it was just an isolated incident. I rocked him, fed him, let him lay in his crib, put him in his vibrating baby papasan, carried him and bounced, patted his back, etc, and repeated all of the above several (hundreds of) times. He would act like he was drifting off to sleep, then pop his eyes wide open and smile and let out a little giggle. It was way too cute but I have no idea why he was doing it!!!!! Wish us luck tonight!
