Friday night, we went to check out Wig & Pen (new pizza place in town) with some friends and got some good pizza! :)
Saturday morning, I went to the farmer's market in Des Moines with Jacob and picked up some tomatoes, jalepenos, corn, green peppers, onions, and bread. I made a small batch of fresh salsa on Sunday with the produce I bought... it turned out pretty decent for my first time making it, if I do say so myself. I also made fruit salsa and cinnamon chips for small group... I found the recipe online and it was so good! Here is the link! We highly recommend it!
Saturday afternoon, we decided to take Jake to the splash park in Ankeny! I took him the week before too and he had so much fun! This time, Josh got to come along! After that, my wonderful husband took me to Pizza Ranch in Altoona. He's a good man and makes sure I get my Pizza Ranch fix as needed.
Sunday, we had church and small group! Small group was fun-- we did some olympic events and I learned that I'm lousy at flicking rubber bands, I can't hula hoop, frisbee throwing is not my forte, I wasn't cut out to carry an egg on a spoon and hold it with my mouth.. and run.. but I can sure hit a ball with a mushy bat. (Okay, so I only won one medal - a bronze - in the "baseball" competition! :)) Josh fared a lot better and had a few more medals around his neck!! I don't think anyone is surprised at that, though. He earned his gold by spitting an M&M the furthest! I'm so proud of my husband! :)
