Facts and Stats

Thought I'd update with a few facts about Jacob and what he's doing lately for those who don't get to see him often!!

From Jake's 1 year appointment last week Thursday:
Length: 31 inches
Weight: 23 lbs 10 oz

He's definitely walking full time now. Even at the park tonight, he did quite well transitioning from walking on wood chips to sand to cement to grass.

His current likes: hitting a baseball off a t, trying to play basketball with his little tykes hoop, kicking balls, reading books, climbing stairs, moving chairs around the kitchen, kissing himself in the mirror, taking the pans out of the drawer and banging them around the kitchen, looking at puppies out the window, going down the slide at the park, and the play area at the mall.

His current dislikes: not being able to run around freely at the store, tomatoes, being cooped up inside too long, and sitting still for diaper changes when I take too long! I couldn't really think of as many dislikes.. and as I was trying to come up with some I had to smile just thinking about how excited he is about most everything in general.

Favorite foods: graham crackers, avacados, blueberries, goldfish crackers, cheese, spaghetti, fresh pears, watermelon, mixed veggies, and mandarin oranges

His words.. some of them sound a lot alike but since he's gotten good at pointing, we know what he's referring to anyway!
mama
dada
ball (sometimes, he specifies.. his basketball is buh-ball)
puh (puppy)
peh (pen.. yes.. he knows pen. He loves Josh's work pens..)
puh (diaper)
upeh (open... referring to the microwave.. a fun and exciting activity!)
uhn (one)
up
mmmmma (grandma)
mmmmmpa (grandpa)
uck (yuck)
hi
bah (bye)
ffff (fish)
buk (book)

His "animal noises"...
Lion says... "arrrrrrrr"
Snake says "ffsss"
Puppy says "ahhh ahhh"
Monkey says "uh!"
Duck says "ack"
Crocodile says [claps his hands together]
Bee says "bbbb"

Cute things...
Where is Jacob? He puts his hands over his eyes and plays peekaboo
How old is Jacob? He raises his middle finger (we tried to teach him his pointer finger.. guess we just won't use this one in public quite yet!!) and says "uhn!"
How big is Jacob? He raises his hands high in the air

Body parts...
He can point to his ear, nose, and tongue so far.

That's about all I can think of right now
