Jacob and I just got back from doing a little garage sale shopping. In the last week, I think I spent about $15 total and got:
*3 sweaters for myself, 1 pair of capri pants, and a cute adidas shirt
*an inflatable toy that gets filled up with water
*a toy truck
*a toy mower
*a push toy/walker thing
*3 baby puzzles
*a gymboree "drum" filled with noisy beads
*some adorable clear plastic blocks with airplanes, trucks, etc. inside that move and shake
*a toy with a bunch of pop-up features
*overalls, pajamas, 3 pairs of shorts, a few shirts for Jacob. (including some brand new Nike clothes!)
*and a few more toys
I love being able to find cheap stuff in good condition! Ankeny always seems to have great garage sales! It's just a matter of finding time to go and trying to find the "neighborhood block sales" so I can just pop Jake in the stroller instead of taking him in and out of his carseat!
On to the new talents... Jacob loves to clap! He used to just wave his hands around when we clapped, but now he claps all the time! He does it when he eats something. (We don't always have the easiest time getting him to eat baby food, so we make a big deal of it and clap and say "yayyyy!!" when he takes a bite. I think we've convinced him that it's normal to applaud every bite!) He claps when he's sitting in his carseat and I'm driving. He claps when he's playing with something. It's so stinkin' cute! Yesterday, I kept asking him if he wanted a puff (Gerber puffs) and he started making a whispered "puh" noise every time I said puff. Smart kid! :) He also still absolutely loves to be walked around. He loves trying to walk fast too... sometimes I think he's just going to take off running! ;) Okay, not really, but it seems like it! We went to the park yesterday and he "walked" (holding on to my hands) all the way from the playground to the car down the long sidewalk..and he was pretty steady! He is such a happy, smily baby and so fun to be around!
