Our laptop is still not behaving. In fact, it is sitting on the bottom shelf of the computer desk right now. Therefore, there are still not more pictures to share. I hope to have someone look at it soon so we can get this blog up to a better standard again! :o)
I decided that even though I can't post pictures right now, I should post cute stories or little "tidbits" at least.
Before Jake goes to sleep at night, we always have a routine of going potty, putting on pajamas, saying goodnight to the trains and putting them in the roundhouse, reading a few books, then laying down and praying (we always ask him what he is thankful for..some of the stuff he comes up with is funny!) and then we sing one song.. which Jake gets to choose. Usually it's Amazing grace. (or "Gwace," as it is referred to in this case!) Just now, I put Jake down for his nap and went into the other room. From a kid who talks a lot, but not extravagent sentences yet, I was amazed to hear a soft voice singing, "Amazing gwace how sweet aaa sound, it saved a wetch like meeeee!" then continued with "Rockabyeeeee in the treeetop, wind bloowwwws." Little things like these are what really brighten my day!
Bedtime has been particularly rough lately though because Jake insists on getting out of bed time after time only to have us chase him back into his room..this is followed by some crying and begging for anything he can think of.. anywhere from water to potty to turning the light on, even if he just did those things. Last night, my patience was running low and I heard Jake get up and bang around upstairs. I didn't go up right away like I probably should have.. after a few minutes, I headed upstairs to find him sitting on the potty. Right outside the bathroom door is our washer and dryer...inside of the washer was a pile of laundry and about 5 dryer sheets. Apparently, he thought he should probably be taking care of laundry instead of sleeping. I couldn't help but laugh at that one.
