Thought I'd post a cute Jacob thing here...
Jacob adores his daddy...rightfully so. When I'm home with him (or even out at a playgroup or the grocery store or anywhere!!) he periodically asks "aye daddy?" and puts his two hands up as if to say "where?" (aye=where, if you didn't catch that..) It is usually when Josh is at work, so I will tell him that he went bye bye in his truck to go to work or something similar. The answer always satisfies him and we go about our day... until about half an hour later, he will ask again "aye daddy?" It's apparent that he thinks about Josh a lot, because the question comes up a lot! On Sunday night, Josh was playing basketball, as usual. Jacob asked "aye daddy?" and I replied, "he went bye bye to go play basketball." His eyes lit up and he exclaimed in his growly voice, the voice that is only reserved for the word ball.."BALL!!" (quirky, yes. He growls the word ball most of the time and has done this since he started saying it!) Since Sunday, whenever we discuss where daddy is, Jacob says "BALL!" Apparently, he thinks that daddy is always off playing basketball now.
His other "daddy" thing is that whenever he hears the garage door opening, he runs over to the front window and looks out with great anticipation- sometimes giggling and banging on the window and trying to get Josh to wave at him as he comes home. When he hears the garage door closing and the door to the house open, he runs to the gate at the top of the stairs and shrieks "daaaaaddd!!" and either wiggles the gate or dances around until Josh reaches the top of the stairs. Daddy coming home is quite the big event.. I'm going to try to be sneaky and capture it on video one of these days.
