The latest funnies

Jacob has been using the word "silly" a lot lately.. we're always hearing "silly daddy!!" or "silly mommy!" or "silly puppy," etc. He just learned the word a few weeks ago and seems to use it when something is funny. Cute. :) Tonight, we were watching a friend's little boy and they would laugh together in the wagon about something unknown to Josh and me...and Jake would randomly yell "Silly!!" Speaking of silly, here are a few of his silly moments lately..

*We went to a cabin at Ponca State Park over the 4th of July weekend. When we were pulling up to the cabins, we were in a wooded area and Jake exclaimed over and over "Bear! Bear! Bear!" My mom and I laughed about it and to this day wonder how he associated that woods with a bear...I can't think of a book or experience where he would know about bears in the woods from.
*Lately, I have been telling Jake when he hits or does other negative things, it makes people sad... Two days ago, I accidently knocked a glass off the counter and it shattered all over the kitchen floor. He looked at me, looked at the glass, looked at me, then stuck out his bottom lip and wailed, "Mommy, I sad!!!!" I tried not to laugh, but it was priceless.
*We were at the mall 2 days ago to meet up with some buddies at the play area. After we played and ate lunch (Chik-fil-a...yea!!!) I thought I would try to sneak in a little bit of shopping, since I have gift cards from Christmas left.. (terrible, I know, but trying on clothes with a super energetic toddler along is no picnic) I headed toward the clothing store Express. I no more than set one foot in the store and Jake stopped in his tracks, stared into the store, and said firmly and loudly, "No....No....No.....No...No!!" A few employees overheard and laughed. He clearly loves shopping as much as his father. I decided to try again down the hall at Gymboree. There was a clearance rack of boys clothes just inside the door that I had my eye on, but again, I no more than set one foot in the door and Jake stopped and in the same firm, even tone he said, "No...No...No..No!" It was so funny at the time...not super surprising, though, since Josh also has no patience for the mall!
*Jake has a little buddy named Ella that he plays with at least once a week, sometimes more. He adores her and is always asking for her. Ella's mom tells me that Ella often asks to play with Jake as well. A few weeks ago, we were at their house and Jake played in a plastic kiddie pool in the backyard and he's been talking about it since then. Yesterday, I walked into the room to find Jake on his toy phone saying "Ella..pool? Ella..pool?"
*In general, Jake is always looking for a laugh. He loves being silly and watching us be silly. Yesterday, I was vaccuuming and was using the edger (is that what it's called?) and started pointing it at my shirt, making it suck up some of my shirt, thinking I would at least get a giggle. He was standing up and laughed so hard that he completely fell over. It's funny how the littlest things are so hilarious to him!
*We took a trip to Uncle Marlin's farm recently. While we were there, Jake followed him around and wanted so badly to "help" him feed the animals. When it came time to feed the kitties, he "helped" make the milk, then watched as Uncle Marlin dumped cat food out on the ground for his cats. Jacob started scooping up the cat food and putting it in the bowl of milk and said "Cereal!!! Cereal!!"
