Happy New Year!

Okay, so maybe I'm a week late on the Happy New Year, but we haven't posted yet in 2008! Time flies, as usual! We had a fun weekend this past weekend- we went to my parent's house to hang out with my mom a little bit. We saw that the weather was going to be nice and were not sure when the next chance to get away would be. I don't have a part time job yet, still looking, but I have no idea if it will involve weekends once I do get one! My dad is in Africa visiting his friend, Dea, checking out his ministry there, since their church is now helping to support it. So we didn't get to see him, but I'm sure he's having the experience of a lifetime! Anyway, we opened a few presents and played some games. It was nice to relax there!

Today, Josh started his online courses at DMACC. In fact, he currently has his nose in the books and is thoroughly enjoying (ha ha) a review of fractions for his business math course. To quote his actual words from about a minute ago, "fractions are not friends." His first quiz is finished and he got 20/20. He says it was first grade level adding and subtracting. He also says that he is currently doing 4th grade level fractions, and since they are such a challenge, he has come to the conclusion that he is not smarter than a 5th grader. He is taking a total of 3 courses this semester- 2 online (Business Math and Small Business) and 1 3-hour long class (Microeconomics) once a week on campus.

In other not so happy news, Jacob has a small ear infection. He has had a cold for what seems like forever. I took him into the doctor on the 24th and they said it was just a cold... so we did what we could (saline drops, suctioning his nose, cool mist humidifier, letting him sleep with his head elevated in a baby papasan or his car seat) and it seemed to be getting better. The past 3-4 days it has been back and worse than before, so I took him in. We get to start him on his medicine tonight... so I hope it works fast!

Here are some pictures from the last week or so... enjoy!

Something must be terrifying!
