Sick.

Thanks Grandma H for the warm and fuzzy sleep sack!
All that jumping will wear you out!!

We've all been passing around and trying out new sicknesses the last few days here. Not fun. Jacob's ear infection looks just fine now according to the doctor, but he is still stuffed up. It's been a month now that he's had cold symptoms on and off.. mostly on. I've had a cold/sore throat for a week now and Josh is sitting on the couch with a blanket and we have the heat cranked... and he says he's cold. That's obviously not a good sign. I went to the store yesterday to stock up on more tissues.

Jacob had his 4 month shots yesterday and did okay until the evening, when he would randomly start crying when he was drifting off to sleep in my arms. I ended up sitting downstairs for an hour with him until I knew for sure that he was completely asleep. He would make a little frown in his sleep, his bottom lip would start quivering and then he would let out a wail. Poor guy!!! He's not much of a crier or whiner, so we knew he was in pain!

On a somewhat related side note-- it's so strange, the one time that he is guaranteed to cry is when we sneeze. Weird..especially for a generally very happy little guy. It doesn't matter if it is Josh or me and whether we are across the room or he is in our arms, if we sneeze, we see him start to frown slowly, then his lower lip quivers, his face turns beet red, and then we hear the "waaaaaah" and the tears start flowing. I guess it's a scary noise or something...who knows!
Back to the 4 month appointment... he is in the 75th percentile for weight and head circumference. He is just above that for length. He is just a few ounces short of 16 pounds and is just over 26 inches. (He giggles when we tell him he's "two foot two.") So, he's a happy, healthy baby! We got the green light to give him solids, but the doctor says there is no hurry. I've read differering opinions on starting at 4 vs 6 months. After discussing with the doctor, I think we'll start at 5, since he says "there are good arguments for both sides, so maybe you could try 5 months." Sounds good to me!

I've been trying to post a video of him in his new jumperoo-- it is about the happiest sight you can imagine-- he really gets going and lets out all kinds of happy shrieks, giggles, and grins. He loves to jump! For whatever reason, it just sits there and says it's uploading and doesn't upload. Anyone have a clue what I can do??
