The Race

We went to the park today for about an hour and a half. When we go to the park, typically Jake wants to spend more time on the basketball court running around with the ball, having me hold him up to the hoop so he can dunk, etc. than he does on the playground equipment. Today, we also took the tee so we could hit the ball around a while.

Anyway, onto my story. We were playing for a while when Jake randomly took off running across a very large field at the park. He didn't even look back once, just kept running. I jogged after him and soon found that there was a rabbit in someone's yard next to the park. I have no idea how he saw it since it was so far away! After our jog across the field, I asked Jake if he wanted to race back. He of course said YEA!!! So we lined up on the side walk and I said, "ready, set, GO!!" and we took off. I was ahead and he was giggling uncontrollably. I let him pass me and he laughed even more. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks, stooped down, and plucked a dandelion from the grass and handed it to me. He said with a cheerful smile, "hee yooo go!" (translation: here you go!) Then, we resumed running and back to the playground we went!
How sweet!
