Zoo

I need to get new batteries for my camera- sorry for the lack of pictures on here.

We have gone to the zoo TWICE now this week! It never gets old for Jake. I was babysitting today and wasn't sure how it would go, taking a 13 month old and a 21 month old. It went amazingly well- we even rode the train and had lunch in the cafe there. We stayed 2 1/2 hours! The boys were both so good!

I couldn't remember if I posted about Jake loving the petting zoo area... it's probably his favorite part of the zoo. (Well, now that we experienced the train, it may be a tie.) Every time he feeds the goats, he still opens his mouth. It's so funny to watch him open his mouth wide as he holds a piece of feed in his hand as the goat licks it off. Today, I bought the $1 cup of feed for him to feed the goats with since I had no quarters for the machine. I stood there and watched as he fed the goats one piece at a time, very carefully. This went on for a good long while until he figured out that the goat wanted to eat out of the cup, so he let the goat finish it off that way. I think we were in the petting zoo for a good 20 minutes..which is a VERY long time for Jake to be occupied by any one thing. He also surprises me by being very "hands on" with all of the zookeepers' displays. Today, he touched a salamander, chicken, duck, goat, llama, and a bunny.

I love that the zoo never gets old for him. We have gone quite a few times so far this year since we have a pass, but every time, every animal is so exciting for him..one of the many things I love about this age!
