Chop chop

Before I get to my story, a few cute Jake pictures.
No, my child does not lay blue eggs. He decided to sit on his favorite ball... quite the balancing act.. what can I say, he sure doesn't get his sense of balance from me!
Not only is he good at balancing but he's becoming a pro at helping daddy play Xbox. Let me tell you, Josh LOVES the help.. I really think it improves his game playing. Unfortunately for Josh, I just sit back, laugh, encourage Jake to help, and take pictures while Jacob steers him off his xbox racetrack. :) So, now we get to the chop chop part of this story.
I decided to get a haircut last night since it had been quite a while since I had my last trim. I went in and told the lady I wanted a trim and I wanted my hair thinned... which is the usual routine for me. She was about halfway done and she asked if I had ever donated hair before since I had so much of it and it grows so fast. I told her that I had not ever done it and she suggested that I should check into it if I ever decided to chop a bunch off. She told me about a few places that they sometimes send hair to such as Locks of Love and Wigs for Kids. I somewhat impulsively decided that it wasn't a bad idea since I am fortunate enough to grow massive amounds of my own hair in record time. So, she measured over 10 inches and sectioned them into 3 ponytails and chopped. So, now I am about 5 pounds lighter and soon there will be a child somewhere who lost their own hair using mine! She said that each wig takes donations from about 10 people to be complete. Amazing.
So back to the "somewhat impulsively" part of this.. I had been googling locks of love a few weeks ago when I had a passing thought about chopping my hair again. So, the idea was there, I just didn't really think I was going to do it. The organization that my hair is actually going to is Wigs for Kids, which apparently gives the wigs away free, as oppposed to locks of love, which I guess the families have to pay for. I didn't really know what "style" to go for since it wasn't planned, so I told her to do what she thought would look good.. (that might sound brave to some of you, but really it's just genuine apathy.. :)) Here is how it ended up:

I think is looks great! I have always wanted to do that, but my hair grows so slow, and I can't stand to have it longer than my chin.
